Our Story

The Past: Our main founder, Mark Tweeddale, has been a beekeeper for over 30 years in Taihape, Rangitikei Region of New Zealand. His family business started with his grandfather Stuart Tweeddale, who left NZ in 1939 to assist in the Second World War. He fought for three years and became a prisoner for another three years. During his time in prison, Stuart was given a book on bees. He was so fascinated by bees that on his return to New Zealand in 1944, he decided to start beekeeping with his wife, Thelma Tweeddale, in the Rangitikei Region of Central New Zealand.

Three generations later, Mark Tweeddale plays an important part of one of the largest honey producers in New Zealand working for his family business Tweeddale’s Honey Ltd.

The Future: After years of experience and trying bee derived ingredients for his own skin issues, wounds, insect bites, burns and abrasions, Mark wanted to be able to share his passion for bees and what they offer through health products.

In 2024, BFIX LTD was created by Mark Tweeddale and his wife Ximenita Trejo.

Ximenita Trejo, has lived in various continents throughout her life. She loved meeting people from different cultures and learning about nature while in Africa, Australia, Europe, South America and now New Zealand. With over 24 years of experience in food technology, product development and nutrition, Ximenita, understands the importance of using natural and good quality ingredients to feed your body inside and out.

Overall, BFIX LTD is not just a brand but an aspiration that combines knowledge, experience and passion from two humble individuals born in different parts of the world coming together. Their passion is to give back something meaningful to society to say thank you for their own life journeys.
